Wonder Wednesday #51...

Wonder Wednesday - The Love of Reading (Part Seven)

*This is the seventh of an on-going series I'm going to post each Wednesday.

*I love posting on Wednesdays because it is all about the WONDERS of books, reading, and all that comes with it.

*Toward the end of the school year, I had my students respond to some questions I had about their reading lives.

*Each student filled out a reading survey with six questions to answer.

*I will post their thoughts here on Wednesdays throughout the summer.

*One of my most favorite things to do as an educator is to get feedback from my students.

*Here is a look at a couple of my students' responses from the survey I gave...

STUDENT #13 - Kaltun

Before I was in fourth grade I thought that reading was hard
because it was hard reading big books.

Now that I'm almost done with fourth grade I think that reading is easy and fun
because I learned when I read more the better I get.

This year I learned that as a reader I preferred reading longer books
because I got use to them and liked the stories.

To me reading is fun
because I can use my imagination while reading.

As a reader I'm most proud reading longer books
because I got better at reading longer books and liked them.

The best thing about reading is Mr. Andrus reading to us
because I get to relax and enjoy a really great story.

STUDENT #14 - Diego

Before I was in fourth grade I thought that reading was ok
because I was not that into reading.

Now that I'm almost done with fourth grade I think that reading is awesome
because I got better at it.

This year I learned that as a reader I can find great books
because I read terrible books last year.

To me reading is fun
because there is lots of action in books.

As a reader I'm most proud of reading longer books
because
I read shorter books in third grade.

The best thing about reading is stories with action
because action is good and those are fun types of books to read!
